Graz Airport is about 10km
south of Styria’s capital situated and has been built as a small airfield
in 1913. The development to an important airport began in 1966 when the
first scheduled service to the European destination Frankfurt was offered
by Austrian Airlines. In 2004 the Graz Airport was able to handle more
than 900.000 passengers. |

| The Styrian industry (mainly car producing industry) causes a high fright volume compared to other regional airports in Austria. Due to this circumstance DC-8Fs, Boeing 747Fs and An-124s were no surprise at Graz in 2004 and 2005. | |
