You
should consider the following, when planning a combined spotting and
ski holiday at Salzburg:
* Most winter charter flights are operated on Saturdays (up to 120
flights per Saturday). Therefore we recommend to fly to Salzburg
with low cost carriers already on Fridays, Thursdays or even earlier.
* The winter charter season starts the weekend before Christmas and
ends on the last weekend in March / first weekend in April
* Many Low Cost flights are also operated on Sundays (ideal for your
journey home)
* Flights for the orthodox Christmas (Russians): Most flights are
operated during the 2 weeks round 06th January. Arrival
and departure day vary from year to year and can be on any day. As
soon as the first information is available we will publish it here.
Our
recommendation: Salzburg Snow Shuttle:
Daily
at 08:30am a bus service brings you from the centre of Salzburg
(Mirabellplatz) to a different ski resort. In the late afternoon the
same bus brings you back to Salzburg.
Your advantages:
* You can combine skiing, city break and spotting
* Avoid long transfer time and traffic congestion to Salzburg
Airport: The first interesting planes can depart from Salzburg
already at 08:00am
* You can use the broad variety of culture, shopping, hotels and
restaurants of Salzburg city
* Explore a different ski resort each day.
